IT'S ROCKET SCIENCE – WITH A TWIST
Originally conceived in a wind tunnel at NASA, the fairing breakthrough was proven to reduce aerodynamic drag. Unfortunately the NASA design was only practical in a wind tunnel and did not take into consideration the necessities of the transportation industry. The challenge with the NASA design is that it does not allow access to the underside of the trailer, and it covers the landing gear and the rear wheels.
We did not rush to market with a rigid, inflexible, trailer fairing to capitalize on rising fuel costs, Windyne believed that our trailer fairings had to adjust to the needs of fleet operators and drivers. And it’s why we created the Windyne Flex-Fairing - to ensure genuine savings (regardless of the position of the rear axles), ease of use, and durability on the road.

Our patented design horizontally adjusts and vertically retracts, allowing our fairing to have the largest surface area which creates the greatest fuel savings as well as fitting the widest variety of trailer configurations.
ADJUSTABLE FLEXIBILITY
It is a fact that the greater the speed, or wind, the greater the efficiencies that aerodynamics can provide. So why would you not provide the greatest aerodynamic configuration when you are traveling the greatest speeds? The Windyne Flex-Faring does exactly what you would expect. As drivers extend the length of their wheelbase to comply with weight distribution requirements and increase their speeds for freeway driving, so too does the Windyne Flex-Fairing adjust. Automatically, and with no additional driver interaction, the Windyne Flex-Fairing telescopes with the positioning of the bogies. No gaps will be created between the fairing and the bogie as the bogie is moved backwards offering the greatest aerodynamic efficiencies at highway speeds which is where you want your aerodynamics to be the best.

Don’t settle for a fairing that is designed for the furthest forward position of the bogies which is meant for maneuverability and not aerodynamic efficiency.
RETRACTABLE FLEXIBILITY
Standard, fixed trailer fairings cannot be raised or lowered to adapt to undercarriage conditions. The patented Windyne flex-Fairing is mounted on hinges and the lift-assist system allows for the fairing to be folded up against the trailer body giving unrestricted access to the underside of the entire trailer.

And the smart, 100lb design, allows for the fairing to be easily removed if need be.
UNEXPECTED FLEXIBILITY
The majority of the Windyne Flex-Fairing is made up of a rigid poly-carbonate material which makes for an extremely lightweight and durable product. It is also rigid, which provides a very clean profile both on the inside and outside, reducing surfaces where debris can accumulate. To extend the aerodynamic capabilities of the Windyne Flex-Fairing, we have added a skirt to the bottom of the rigid portion of the fairing. This skirt is stiff enough to add aerodynamic efficiencies, yet flexible enough to withstand the majority of high-centering events and obstacle impacts, and durable enough to do so for the projected life of the fairing.

All this has been done with the driver in mind. You will not have to change your current operating procedures to receive the fuel saving benefits of the Windyne Flex-Fairing. It has been determined that in most cases you will do damage to other portions of your equipment before impacting the rigid portion of the fairing. So, if unexpectedly, there is an obstacle on the road or drags over an elevation in the road, the flexible skirt simply bends, absorbs the impact and re-shapes itself once clear of the obstruction.
